Polishing NASA wind tunnels and slides has given Valley Design additional experience to add to the broad based knowledge that Valley has accumulated over the past 44 years. Sapphire wafers and substrates are available in all orientations with the more common ones being R-plane (1-102), A-plane (11-20) also referred to as 90-degree Sapphire and C-plane (0001) referred to as 0-degree or basal plane Sapphire. Valley also stocks Silicon on Sapphire (SOS) wafers.
