When discussing culture, each category must be considered. Because Indian weddings take place in different regions of India, with various ceremonies and traditions, the costumes they wear vary. Ladies in Assam, for example, wear Mekhela with a chaddar, whilst women in Gujarat wear lehenga cholis and women in Punjab wear salwar kameez. Men in Assam wear dhotis, while men in Punjab wear kurta pyjamas. And, in most locations, ladies wear sarees, but they do so in a distinctive fashion.
