Pregnancy brings about many changes in a woman’s body, and heightened smell sensitivity, also known as hyperosmia, is one of the most common experiences. This increased sense of smell is often linked to hormonal fluctuations, particularly a rise in estrogen levels. While this heightened sensitivity can make some scents more pleasant, it can also cause nausea and aversions to certain smells.
