How AOM Drivers Power Acousto-Optic Modulators

The AOM driver generates an RF signal that is applied to a piezoelectric transducer within the AOM. This transducer converts the electrical signal into an acoustic wave, which propagates through an acousto-optic crystal. The acoustic wave creates a moving diffraction grating that interacts with the light beam. By precisely controlling the frequency, amplitude, and phase of the RF signal, the AOM driver determines the characteristics of the diffracted light.
