FastBeam is a lightweight browser-based tool for sending files and text from one device to another without first installing a dedicated application or creating an account. It is designed around a simple workflow: open FastBeam on the devices you want to use and transfer content directly through the browser.
When devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, FastBeam says they can discover one another automatically. For devices that are elsewhere, the service provides a six-letter code that can be used to connect them. This combination makes it potentially useful both for quick transfers around the home or office and for situations where the receiving device is not connected to the same local network.
The absence of mandatory registration is particularly convenient for occasional transfers. Instead of uploading a file to a cloud drive, creating a share link, sending that link, and later cleaning up the uploaded copy, a browser-to-browser sharing utility can reduce the number of steps involved. It can also be useful when switching between phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops where installing another permanent utility would be unnecessary.
FastBeam is worth bookmarking alongside tools such as LocalSend and SnapDrop because it approaches the same everyday problem from a browser-first perspective. LocalSend is particularly attractive when you want installed, local-network applications across multiple operating systems, while FastBeam is useful when opening a webpage and connecting the devices is the more convenient option.
