Fastest 50 in IPL History — Complete List (2008–2026)
A half-century in T20 cricket is impressive, but a sub-15-ball fifty is sheer brutality. The IPL has witnessed several such moments, where batters have dismantled bowling attacks in just a handful of deliveries. Yashasvi Jaiswal currently holds the all-time record for the quickest fifty in the IPL, having brought up his half-century in just 13 balls during a chase against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in 2023.
Yashasvi Jaiswal — The Fastest Fifty in IPL History (13 Balls)
On May 11, 2023, a young Yashasvi Jaiswal walked out at Eden Gardens chasing 150 against KKR. He blazed 26 runs off the very first over bowled by Nitish Rana — the second most expensive opening over in IPL history at the time — and reached his fifty off just 13 balls. He went on to score an unbeaten 98 off 47 balls, with 12 fours and 5 sixes, sealing victory in 13.1 overs. This remains the fastest 50 in the Indian Premier League.
Why These Innings Matter
Most of these blistering fifties came in successful chases or while setting up massive totals, proving that early aggression often translates directly into wins. The IPL’s evolution from a 2008 tournament where 160 was a defendable score to a 2024 league where 250+ is regularly chased down is reflected perfectly in this list.
Fastest 100 in IPL History — Complete List (2008–2026)
While T20 fifties are common, centuries remain rare and special. A T20 hundred under 40 balls is one of cricket’s greatest spectacles. Chris Gayle still holds the throne with his iconic 30-ball century, a record that has stood since 2013. However, IPL 2025 and 2026 saw 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shake up the list with two stunning hundreds in two seasons.
