There are many conditions that influence psychotic manifestations. In order to make an accurate diagnosis of psychiatric conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, dementia, and other psychotic conditions, medical disorders that also manifest with psychotic symptoms must be ruled out. Such medical disorders include infections, dementias, tumors, stroke, hypoglycemia, head injuries, vitamin deficiencies, and end-stage renal disease.
