Role of Mina is best known during the annual Hajj pilgrimage, when more than ten thousand air-conditioned tents provide temporary accommodation to visiting pilgrims at the place. The Jamarat Bridge is located in the valley of Mina. It is the location of the ritual of the Stoning of the Devil. This act is performed between sunrise and sunset on the last three days of the Hajj. The rites of Hajj occur from 7th to 12th of Zil Hijjah and the Muslims spend three nights of these five days in the Mina.
The pilgrim should exert to benefit the Muslims and treat them kindly by guiding, helping when needed, and being generous towards the weak, such as in crowded places. Being compassion to the people brings mercy from the Creator, for Allah shows mercy to those of His slaves who are merciful.
Being in Makkah and not visiting the birthplace of Muhammad PBUH, is impossible for the Muslims. The Muslims undertake the Umrah as in the love of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, being in a state of Ahram, they circumambulate the Kaaba seven times and pray behind the Maqam e Ibrahim. They walk forth and back between the Safa and Marwah seven times to complete the Saee and then before taking off the Ahram they shave their Head or trim the Hair which make them pure as they born right on the moment.
From then to the next two days, pilgrim repeats the stoning to the Devil. They throw pebbles on the monument erected in the Mina as Jamarat. They throw seven pebbles on each statue every day. And after repeating the process for the 11th and 12th Zill Hijjah, they ascend to the Harram again and they can perform Tawaaf al Ifadah and they either can perform the Umrah.
The Umarh and its significance cannot be covered in the words alone. It is a matter between the Allah and the men (pilgrim) and it is only Allah, who would reward the pilgrim for his acts. Then, it is needed to stay at Muzdalifah for the whole night and to pray Al Fajr there. Pilgrim stockpile himself with pebbles to be used for the stoning in Mina form the Arafat.
A Muslim should perform Umrah once in a life, but it is highly recommended for him to perform more than one to gain more reward. A person can perform the Umrah in any month of the year like in the month of Safar for in Shaaban, or even in the months of Al-Hajj Visitors can perform Umrah at the day as well as in the night.
