Vahuk is a community-powered social bookmarking and link discovery platform. It gives people a place to save, share, discuss, and discover useful pages from across the web.

The basic idea is simple: someone finds a useful URL, shares it on Vahuk, and that URL becomes a “Story”. Other people can then discover the Story, visit the original source, react to it, discuss it, and help useful content gain more visibility.

Discover Stories

You do not need to submit anything to start using Vahuk. You can begin by browsing Stories shared by other members.

The Latest Stories page shows recently published Stories, while Trending Stories highlights Stories that are gaining attention from the community.

You can also explore Stories through Genres, Tags, contributor profiles, and other discovery pages. These different paths make it easier to move from one useful resource to another without relying only on a search box or a social media feed.

What Is a Story?

On Vahuk, a Story starts with a URL.

That URL might point to an article, tutorial, video, image, discussion, research resource, product page, documentation page, or another useful part of the public web. When someone submits the URL to Vahuk, we create a Story around it.

The Vahuk Story and the original source are not the same thing. The original website owns and publishes its own content. Vahuk provides a community layer around that source.

A Story may include information such as its title, contributor, publication date, Genre, Tags, source domain, summary, Karma, reactions, and comments. The source link lets readers continue to the original website.

Submit a URL and Create a Story

Registered users can share useful URLs with the community through the Submit a New Story page.

A typical submission involves a few simple steps:

1. Provide the URL of the original web resource.
2. Add or confirm an accurate Story title.
3. Add useful context where appropriate.
4. Select the most relevant Genre.
5. Add relevant Tags when they help describe the topic.
6. Submit the Story.

Not every URL will necessarily be accepted or published. Vahuk may reject or review invalid links, duplicate submissions, spam, misleading content, blocked sources, or submissions that do not meet the site’s rules.

Before submitting regularly, it is worth reading the Submission Guidelines. They explain what makes a useful Story and what types of submissions may cause problems.

Choose the Right Genre

Genres are Vahuk’s broader subject classifications. They help organize Stories into useful areas so readers can browse by topic.

Choosing the right Genre matters. A Story about WordPress development should appear where people interested in WordPress or web development would reasonably expect to find it. Assigning unrelated Genres just to gain more exposure makes the site harder to browse and may trigger review.

Use Tags for More Specific Topics

Genres and Tags serve different purposes.

A Genre describes the broader subject of a Story. Tags can describe more specific topics, technologies, people, products, places, or ideas connected with that Story.

For example, a Story could belong to a programming-related Genre while using Tags such as “PHP”, “WordPress”, and “REST API”.

Useful classification helps both the person submitting the Story and the people trying to discover it later.

Open a Story and Visit the Original Source

When you open a Story on Vahuk, you are viewing the community page created around the submitted URL.

The Story page can help you understand who shared the link, how it was classified, how the community has responded, and what discussion has developed around it.

When you want to read, watch, or use the original material, follow the source link to the external website.

This separation is important. Vahuk is designed to help people discover the wider web, not to pretend that externally published content belongs to Vahuk.

Vote, React, and Join the Discussion

Vahuk is not just a directory of links. Community activity is part of how Stories gain context and attention.

Depending on the available controls, members can vote, react to Stories, and leave comments. A quick reaction can show how someone responded to a Story, while comments allow a more detailed conversation.

These signals may also contribute to how Vahuk understands interest and activity around a Story. We do not publish every internal ranking weight or anti-abuse rule because doing so would make manipulation easier.

How Karma Works

Karma is part of Vahuk’s reputation and discovery system, but it is useful to understand that there is more than one kind of signal involved.

Story Karma

Story Karma is associated with an individual Story. It can help represent how that Story is performing within the community.

User Karma

User Karma is associated with a contributor and their activity on Vahuk. Normal participation may earn or use Karma depending on the action involved.

Contributor Trust

Contributor trust is broader than a person’s current Karma balance. Vahuk may consider contribution quality, account history, moderation history, duplicate or spam patterns, submission behavior, and other signals when deciding how much confidence to place in an account.

This means a regular contributor should not suddenly become untrusted simply because they legitimately spent Karma while submitting Stories.

Karma also does not guarantee that a Story will trend, appear in a search engine, avoid moderation, or receive any particular level of visibility.

How Trending Stories Are Discovered

The Trending Stories page is intended to surface Stories that are attracting meaningful attention.

Trending is not simply a list of the newest links or the Stories with the largest raw number beside them. Vahuk can consider signals such as Karma, community activity, reactions, freshness, Story quality, and other integrity checks.

The ranking system may change as Vahuk improves discovery and responds to spam or manipulation. For that reason, we do not promise that a specific action will place a Story in Trending.

Content Quality and Contributor Trust

A healthy discovery community depends on more than publishing as many links as possible.

Vahuk may look at patterns such as duplicate submissions, irrelevant classifications, repeated low-quality activity, domain diversity, submission behavior, moderation history, and other signals when evaluating content or contributor trust.

The purpose is not to punish normal activity. It is to make it harder for automated spam, coordinated manipulation, and low-value submissions to overwhelm useful contributions.

Exact trust thresholds and anti-abuse formulas are not published because those details could be used to game the system.

Why a Story May Be Reviewed, Removed, or Not Indexed

Publication, moderation, and search-engine indexing are related, but they are not the same thing.

A Story may remain available to Vahuk users while being marked so that search engines should not index it. In other situations, a Story may be corrected, consolidated with a duplicate, unpublished, or removed.

Reasons for review can include:

• Duplicate source URLs
• Dead or invalid source links
• Spam or excessive promotion
• Misleading titles or descriptions
• Irrelevant Genre assignments
• Very weak or incomplete Story content
• Manipulated engagement
• Abusive behavior
• Policy violations

Follow the Community Rules

Vahuk works best when people share things because they are worth discovering, not simply because they want another link pointing to their website.

Members should use accurate titles, add useful context, select relevant Genres and Tags, respect other people, and avoid spam, harassment, fake engagement, or attempts to manipulate Karma and ranking systems.

Self-promotion is not automatically the same as spam, but repeated promotional activity without real value to the community can become spam very quickly.

Manage Your Account

Registered members can manage available personal and account preferences from Account Settings.

Your account also connects your contributions, activity, Karma, and public author information where those features are available.

A Simple Example

Suppose you find a useful article explaining how to secure a WordPress website.

You first check whether the same source has already been shared. If it has not, you submit the original article URL to Vahuk.

You use an accurate title, add a short description if useful, choose the most relevant Genre, and add specific Tags such as “WordPress” and “Website Security”.

The submitted URL becomes a Story. It can appear among the Latest Stories, where other people can discover it.

A reader opens the Vahuk Story, follows the source link to read the original article, then returns to react or leave a comment. Other members may do the same.

If the Story earns meaningful community attention and meets Vahuk’s quality and integrity requirements, it may gain additional visibility and could appear among Trending Stories. That placement is never guaranteed.

Vahuk and the Open Web

Vahuk is built around discovering the wider web, not replacing it.

Publishers, writers, developers, photographers, video creators, researchers, businesses, and other website owners continue to publish and control their own material. Vahuk helps people find those resources through community sharing and discussion.

That is also why Vahuk should not be treated simply as a backlink submission service. A useful Story should help a person discover something worthwhile. Submitting large numbers of links only for SEO value works against the purpose of the platform and may be treated as spam.
