An underground ventilation system is one of the most crucial parts of any underground mine. If the ventilation system fails at any point, it will be catastrophic. Without steady airflow, heat rises fast, dust stays suspended, oxygen levels drop, and dangerous gases can build up. The crew will have to evacuate as soon as possible. A strong underground ventilation system is the backbone of safe mining. However, in practice, ventilation is frequently adjusted only when problems appear.
