The Olaplex brand was created by Craig Hawker, the founder of Halo Beauty Pty Ltd. The company started when Craig saw that many women were coloring their hair with permanent dye to cover up gray hairs. However, the chemical compounds used in this process are damaging to the hair. He eventually came across an ingredient called “Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate” which he thought could be helpful in counteracting some of these issues.
