Gastric band surgery turkey
1) How is gastric bypass surgery performed? A gastric bypass is a surgical procedure that can assist obese individuals in reducing their weight and enhancing their health. It makes it easier to lose weight because it shrinks the stomach and alters the way the stomach and small intestine absorb food. Another name for this procedure is a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
2) How does gastric bypass surgery work? The gastric bypass procedure is carried out under general anesthesia and typically requires a hospital stay of three to five days.
The surgery is usually done through a keyhole, but sometimes it needs to be done openly.
As shown in the image below, a small pouch is created at the top of the stomach with staples during the procedure.
Food will bypass the majority of the stomach and the first part of the small intestine because the pouch is stitched to the lower part of the small intestine.
When you only eat a small amount, your body will absorb less food and you will feel fuller longer.
